Sheepdog demonstrations held on the beautiful Dingle peninsula. Our farm is situated in Derrymore on the main Tralee – Dingle road. It is located in a beautiful setting nestled between the Slieve Mish mountains and the picturesque Tralee Bay. We run sheepdog demonstrations by appointment and only cater for small groups which makes it more personal for the clients.
Here you will get to see our purebred border collies Jess and Sam who respond to both voice and whistle commands herding sheep. During your visit we will give you a demonstration of the dogs at work while explaining to you about the work the dogs undertake throughout the year on the mountains. Both our dogs compete in sheepdog trials throughout the year so during this demonstration which takes about 30 minutes, we will set up a replica trial field and give a demonstration of this skilled sport. On occasions we have pet lambs on the farm so your clients may have the opportunity to bottle feed them. In addition, we have two miniature donkeys Alfie and Sooty .
On site we also have an old gypsy caravan where you have the opportunity to learn about the history of the caravan and explore the inside, while also having an opportunity to sit up front and get your picture taken.
